Britney sips cranberry juice sans alcohol!

I’ve been a Britney fan since “Baby…One More Time”, rooted for her during her shaved head-private parts flashing-Paris Hilton’s newest accessory-meltdown-days.  And yet, the one time she shows up in our neck of the woods…she decides to stay away from media.  Boo Britney- BOO!  

Brit showed up at White Party Sunday night…a Palm Springs event for gay men from all over the world.  Wearing a jail-striped shirt, brown leather jacket, jeans, and hair in a ponytail, Brit hung out in the VIP section and sipped cranberry juice.  Security guards surrounded her  and asked that pictures not be taken. (Though we were able to snap a few, of course)  She was accompanied by her longtime manager Larry Rudolph, who also manages Agnes…a new artist performing at White Party.

Britney spent most of the night in a backstage dressing room, setup for that night’s performers (Kim Zolciak, Kandi Burruss, and Agnes).  An insider says she “didn’t want to be seen smoking.”

Back in the VIP area, which overlooked thousands of bare bodied men, Brit looked happy… smiling and dancing… She didn’t greet fans though and ducked away when people tried to take photos.

Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak performed her hit single “Tardy for the Party” in front of thousands of gay men at White Party.  It was her biggest performance to date!  

Kim told me she had nerves before she hit the stage but was glad she had support.  Kandi Burruss, song producer and Housewives castmate, gave her confidence when she joined her onstage.  Kim sang along with a track… she wore a black tutu and bustier. She and Kandi were surrounded by topless buff boys onstage.  

So is Kim a lesbian?  Bisexual? Backstage…Kim declined to talk about her new relationship.  Actually, she told me she wasn’t in one… despite recent media reports in which she confirmed she is dating DJ Tracey Young, yep, a woman.  

Kim did dish on her latest project though.  She’s working with Kandi on a new single called “The Bling Don’t Mean A Thing”. Kim elaborates a little more by saying all of that jewelry and bling don’t mean a thing.  Couldn’t tell if she was serious by the look on her face…the diamond watch she had on blinded me for a second there.

The boys of White Party seemed to love the performance, though by that time everyone was probably wasted.  Why do they love Kim?  ”She looks like a Barbie you can dress up,” one attendee told me.

So what did Kandi think about Kim’s first major performance?  She thought Kim did well…and this performance was a “big deal for her,” she said.

Kandi’s also working on a new album.  Can’t wait!  I still sing along to “Just Kick It” from her Xscape days.  

No other housewives were there.  No NeNe, Sheree, or Lisa. But Bravo crews were shooting Kim’s every move.  Can’t wait to see Palm Springs featured on Real Housewives of Atlanta in the Fall!  Stay tuned.

First, I could not stand to hear Tenley talk about her ex-husband one more time! 

Also, Vienna is a strong girl.  When she walks into a room, people already have a negative impression of her.  She constantly has to defend herself.  That would break down any girl but Vienna is still standing and smiling.  She’s exactly what Jake needs!  

I do agree with Tenley on one thing…how can you be so torn about two girls one day? and then know the next day, with 100% certainty, that you want to marry one of them?  I think Jake is confused. We’ll see if this couple actually makes it to the altar.

Most of you think Slade and Gretchen are a hot couple!  Shocked me…so not a Speidi huh?

Jo says she's dating someone new

This season Gretchen Rossi, on Real Housewives of Orange County, is really stirring up controversy.  She’s starting to stand up to Tamra Barney, she’s butting heads with Lynn Curtin, and she’s dating Slade Smiley…the ex of former housewife and friend Jo Delarosa.  Gretchen and Slade seem to be genuinely happy (great for them)…but I really want to hear more of what Jo has to say.  She introduced the pair after all.   Jo and Gretchen knew each other through mutual friends.  Gretchen and Slade have said in multiple interviews that they’ve known each other for years before hooking up unexpectedly.  In this interview I found…Jo refers to Slade as the love of her life and says she and Slade were working things out until Gretchen came along.  From what I gather, Jo is taking the high road and won’t say too much about the couple.  Respectable, admirable, BUT a bad PR move.  Hopefully, she’ll write about her feelings in her next album…maybe then it’ll get some radio play.

Jennifer Aniston also rocked it though she looked a little uncomfortable reading off a nomination for her ex-hubby’s movie Inglourious Basterds.

Avatar was the big winner. Best Picture, Drama, and James Cameron (Titanic) won Best Director.  If you haven’t seen it yet…you need to!  This is a movie that deserves all of the hype!

Drew Barrymore’s acceptance speech was a little Mariah-esque (uh- yeah you may remember her champagne buzz at the Palm Springs film festival just a couple of weeks ago).

Speaking of buzzed…the story about a buzz that lasted all weekend…The Hangover won Best Picture, Musical/Comedy. What was your favorite line from the movie?…fill out the poll.

 Sandra Bullock took the honors for Best Actress, Drama for The Blind Side. Bullock’s on a roll…remember she just took home a People’s Choice Award for her role in The Proposal.

Single, child-less Gretchen tries to give advice to Lynne’s troubled teen daughter.  It doesn’t go over well.  

In case you need to catch up…here’s what happened last episode. Gretchen invites Alexa, Lynne’s daughter, shopping.  Her reason?… she’s worried about Alexa.  Okay, understandable  considering every time Alexa is on the show… she’s either crying, worried about how she looks, upset over her mom’s and sister’s plastic surgery, or talking to a life coach about how nobody listens to her.  

While shopping, Gretchen confronts Alexa abruptly about her “depression” in between “This is a cute top” banter.  Gretchen tells Alexa she is available if she needs someone to talk to.  Alexa starts crying in the store.  After the ineffective chat, Gretchen says let’s get back to shopping…leading Alexa to awkwardly ask the camera “What just happened?”

Next scene, Alexa is at the gym with her mother.  When Lynne asks about the shopping trip, Alexa say she felt “ambushed”, that Gretchen only pretended she cared to “make herself look better”, and Alexa basically thinks Gretchen’s attempt to “relate” to a teen was pointless because Gretchen “is old”….Gretchen is 31.

This week’s episode…Lynne confronts Gretchen in a very defensive and passive-aggressive manner.  She tells Gretchen her daughter is fine.  Her problems are hormonal.  Lynne says Gretchen’s attempt to give parenting advice is belittling.  And she says until Gretchen has kids of her own she would not understand.  Then insecure Lynne makes this dig… “I can’t wait until you have kids”.  

I was so disappointed in Lynne’s reaction.  If she doesn’t want Gretchen talking to Alexa, why didn’t she just say so?  Instead, she attacked her and berated her for trying to help.  It clearly showed she has insecurities about her parenting skills.  If she didn’t, she wouldn’t have gotten that worked up.  Trust me she was worked up…you may not have noticed because her face doesn’t move but trust me she was.

Gretchen clearly pushed the wrong buttons and stepped on some “Mama Bear” toes, as Lynne put it.  Lynne doesn’t want to take anyone’s advice… so let it be.  Bottom line, Gretchen should just back off.  She’s got enough trouble with Tamra to start up another war.  Even if it’s with Lynne…the housewife who walks into screen doors.

You're not the only one...

A girlfriend said to me the other day…it’s hard for guys to find a “good, faithful girl.” Wait, what? Hard to find a GOOD GIRL? Women say this all the time about men but I have NEVER heard that said about women.  My friend said it with conviction…she believed it down to her core.  Her proof?  She works in a bar and a clothing store, around women all the time, and they tell her…they’re cheating!  Married women have boyfriends on the side, she said.  Girls have multiple boyfriends, along with an “exclusive” boyfriend…and they don’t feel guilty.  A hairdresser I met said the same thing.  She sees it all the time… women cheating because they’re sick of being unappreciated.  Sick of worrying about her man.  And sometimes, they’re just seeking a thrill.

So I did some research.  Here’s what I found.  

20/20 explored this very issue in a segment called “Sex Myths”.  According to 20/20 , men cheat twice as much but anecdotal evidence shows women are closing the gap.  Evolutionary anthropologists say women may be programmed to have multiple partners.  Back in the stone age, women with extra lovers got extra meat and extra protection.  According to TopNews.In, a UK poll of 3,000 people shows more women than men admit to cheating.  Four out of 10 women… compared to 3 out of 10 men.  AshleyMadison.com, a website that helps married couples find affairs, tells me that more women are using their services now.  So there you have it…what do you guys think???!!!

Did you see the ‘Real Housewives of OC’ premiere??!! I can’t believe Gretchen is with Slade Smiley! I am going to have a lot of exclamation points in this blog!  because I am actually screaming about this! I thought Gretchen was introduced to the show as Jo’s friend?  Remember…Slade’s first “housewife”?  Is this Melrose Place or the OC?  Gretchen says she followed girl code and called Jo to let her know she was hooking up with her ex.  What did Jo say?  Well according to Gretchen, “she wasn’t happy” but she wanted Slade to be happy.  What an understatement!  I bet Jo was steaming!  And what’s up with Gretchen’s naked pics scandal?  I can’t believe they actually showed those pics on the show!  I bet a ton of people googled “Gretchen” and “cord”…okay… I must admit I did, but only for research.  (They are still on TheDirty.com by the way.)  Alright, so back to the drama between Gretchen and Tamra…it’s like watching a really good tennis match between Venus and Serena.  This season, Gretchen is fighting back!  The claws are out.  Can’t wait to see what happens the rest of the season.  Please let me know whose side you’re on!!
